Gunmen attack Omoku, Rivers State, killed scores

No fewer than 15 persons have been reportedly killed in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State by a group of gunmen on Monday.



It was gathered that the victims were accosted and killed on their return from the Cross Over service by armed gunmen.

The unknown gunmen , it was gathered carried out the attack at Kirigani and Oboh areas of Aligwu community in Omoku.

A source within the area, who reported the incident, said the attack was allegedly led by the younger brother of an ex-Nigeria Delta militant Leader, Johnson Igwedibia popularly known as DonWanny.

Chairman of ONELGA Local government, Barr. Oosi Olisah has confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command said it is aware of the incident.

Recall that in October 2017 the Nigerian Army raided the home of DonWanny killing a number of his gang and took over his lavish property at Aligwu community.
