It was revealed that the man behind the creation of Black Panther and Disney World had suffered several illnesses over the past few years including a bout of pneumonia and vision issues.

He was eulogized by the Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, as an extra ordinary person and a super hero just like the characters he created.

“Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A super hero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain, and to connect, The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart,” wrote the CEO

Although Marvel studios was a success thanks to Lee, he is said to have had a rocky relationship with the company when it went full-tilt Hollywood.

He sued the company in 2002 for royalties he said he was owed for the first “Spider-Man” movie but settled the case for $ 10 million (KSh 100 million) three years later.

“Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” is the latest installment of the film’s franchise and will be released in December 2018.

The super hero creator died at the age of 95 and is survived by his daughter, J.C, His wife of 69 years, Joan, died in 2017.
