6 things to know about Nollywood actress Maureen Solomon

There was a time in Nollywood when actress, Maureen Solomon, graced the TV screens to the joy of her fans. However she seems to have given up on her talent as she no longer appears in movies.

The Nigerian movie industry is blessed with a number of talented thespians. However, some are not quite in the spotlight like they used to be.

A number of Nigerians seem to mistake her for another actress, Maureen Silver, and to clarify her identity, Legit.ng has gathered six interesting facts about the 31-year-old star.

  •  1. Solomon was born in Isochi, a small town in Abia state, and she is the second of five children.
  •  2. In an interview with The Sun, the star revealed that she had always wanted to act in movies but she finally made the bold step to join the industry after she stumbled on people auditioning at a venue.
  •  3. The movie star started acting professionally in the early 2000s at the age of 17.
  • 4. She was paid N2000 for her first movie role which was directed by the popular producer and screenwriter, Lancelot Odua Imasuen. However, her first job ever was as a receptionist and she was paid the sum of N4500, after which she abandoned the job.

  • 5. The beautiful star got married to her husband in December 2005 and she revealed that her husband never hindered her career. They also have beautiful kids together.

  • 6. Maureen Solomon stopped acting in 2011 and she revealed that the reason for that was because of her family. According to the star, her maid left and she decided not to get another one but take care of the home herself.

It was earlier reported that the actress debunked rumours that her husband is responsible for her exit from the movie scene.

After she got married in 2005, her appearances in movies drastically reduced and soon enough, she was off the movie scene, leaving fans wondering what could have happened and some, blaming her husband for her decision to stop acting.
