England born, Stevenage‎ highly-rated 18-year-old goalkeeper, Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu has pledge to play for Nigeria ahead of England, OwnGoal reports.

Coach of the U20 team of Nigeria, Paul Aigbogun has also extended an invitation to the youngster ahead of the forthcoming WAFU.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu will team up with the Nigeria’s U20 team, who are presently in camp, gearing up for the tournament.

He is expected to push first choice, Daetan Ogundare, for the first choice spot.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu, a former Charlton youth team goalkeeper, had trained with the Nigeria’s U17 team few years ago, but failed to make the squad of the team, who were then knocked out of the qualifiers for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations.

The player has spend time with the youth teams of Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletics and AFC Wimbledon ‎before his move to Stevenage in August this year. You may also like to read; Monaco name Thierry Henry as new coach
