3 arrested for subjecting suspects to jungle justice

3 residents of Danfa near Accra, Ghana have been arrested by the police for subjecting 2 suspects to jungle justice.

The 3 persons who were arrested for subjecting suspects to jungle justice, tied two masons identified as Kwaku Akorli, 51 and Hope Hortor, 28 to a bamboo sticks which was submerged into a manhole filled with water after they were accused by the owner of a construction site where they worked of stealing iron rods.

Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mrs Effia Tenge, who confirmed the arrest of the 3 jungle justice suspects, told Graphic Online that the police received distress calls at about 1:30pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 and went to the scene immediately.

According to her, the two men were found tied separately to the bamboo sticks suspended over the manhole at the construction site where they had been working on the construction of a private building. Effia further disclosed that the rescued jungle justice victims who were weak and struggling to catch their breath were rushed to the hospital, while the owner of the building Manasseh Adzroku and his two accomplices Victor Harrison and Collins Amoako were arrested.
