Gaidam said he was not over such money to rig the presidential poll so the reports was false and that the PDP candidate, Atiku, has never offered him bribe. The REC added that he has no relationship whatsoever with Atiku and the PDP candidate has no idea what he looks like.

The Adamawa state’s REC made the statement to address reports that he turned down the sum of $1million bribe and a house in Dubai from Atiku to rig the presidential election.

Gaidam, who accused desperate politicians of spreading the false claims, threatened court action against those spreading the rumour. He said: “I’ve never had any contact with Atiku all my life.

I can state without fear of contradiction that Atiku probably does not know how I look, because I’ve never met him personally, all my life. I was shocked to read what was credited to me by some unscrupulous persons.”
