Tears as 15-year-old boy drowns in Jigawa

Tragedy struck in Jigawa as a 15-year-old boy, Usman Kabiru of Walawa quarters in Ringim local government area drowned in a river.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, stated that Usman drowned while swimming in the river with his friends.

The command’s Public Relations officer, SC Adamu Shehu explained that in the course of swimming, the boy drowned and his body is yet to be recovered.

He said NSCDC personnel and the fire service are working to recover the remains of the deceased.

He, therefore, urged parents and guardians to take good care of their wards.
