Tension in Lagos community as suspected cultists resume violent and reprisal attacks at Oworonshoki, a Lagos suburb.

Atleast four people feared death while three other were severely injured on Wednesday during attacks by suspected cultists in the Lagos suburb.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that Aiye and Eiye cults started their fight around 6:30am at L&K bus stop which later aggravated to Olopomeji and Akinjuomo streets in Lagos.

These suspected cultists stormed the areas fully armed with cutlasses, axes and bottles which they used to attack one another.

We also gathered that Oworonshoki had been a peaceful and calm environment before the fight between cults groups and now a haven for criminals, robbers and cultists.

Victims who feared death were Ibrahim alias Iso, Mumuni Abade and Dodo while three others sustained deep machete injuries.

There were speculations that the Aiye cult suffered more damaged than the Eiye cult as people hacked to death were mostly members of the Aiye cult

There was tension everywhere on Wednesday as traders were seen locking up their shops while mothers were seen calling their kids to move away from the road to avoid being casualties of the attack.

Armed policemen were also sighted at three locations conducting stop and search on vehicles and tricycles.

Police spokesman Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), said the police were only aware of one death.

He said a suspect, Yusuf Adesafe, has been arrested, adding that peace has been restored to the area.
