Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, and her business and creative partner, Mildred Okwo, have reached an advanced stage on their latest film project titled La Femme Anjola.

Rita is the star of a truckload of unforgettable movies while Mildred has her imprint on productions like 30 Days, The Meeting and Suru L’ere.

As fans await the release of La Femme Anjola in 2020, Qed.ng brings five things we already know about the movie.

Psychological thriller

La Femme Anjola is the story of a young stockbroker whose life is turned upside down when he falls in love with a beautiful woman. Love, however, turns sour when it emerges that the object of his attraction is a married woman working with her husband to take him down.

A big TASC

The movie is a production of The Audrey Silva Company (TASC). Co-founded by Mildred and Rita in 2010, TASC made a big splash in Nollywood with the release of multiple award-winning The Meeting in 2012. It followed that up with Suru L’ere four years later.

Written by Tunde Babalola

Anybody who has watched a good Nollywood movie in the last 15 years would have encountered the work of Tunde Babalola. He has written for Kunle Afolayan, Izu Ojukwu and Tunde Kelani. His works include The Meeting, October 1, The CEO, Last Flight to Abuja, Maami, Dazzling Mirage, Ghana Must Go, Stole Lives, Alero’s Symphony and Critical Assignment. He wrote the script for La Femme Anjola in 2015.

Rita the femme fatale

Best actress at the 2012 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) among many others, Rita plays the lead role of Anjola, the mysterious and seductive woman. At 44, Rita still has enough to turn the stiffest neck and drive traffic to the cinema.

Other actors

Joining Rita in the cast are Uzor Osimkpa, Femi Jacobs, Michelle Dede, Nonso Bassey, Ken Erics, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Ego Boyo, Jumoke Aderounmu, Soso Soberekon, Bassey Ekpeyong from Big Brother Naija and Mumbi Maina from Kenya, among others.
