PHOTOS: EFCC arrests 18 Internet fraudsters in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Office has arrested 18 suspected internet fraudsters for alleged internet fraud business.

The suspects were identified as Abass Mukhtar, Enitan Adekunle, Olakunle Araoyinbo, Korede Adetule, Christmas Gabriel, Christmas Yole, Christmas Emmanuel and Harrison Obayogbono. Others are Victor Kenneth, Adewale Musibau, Oluwajuwon Shofuyi, Idris Abdulazeez, Oyeku Adeoye, Omilana Adeleke, Okeke Chucks, Peters Olamide, Abayomi Jones and Usman Olalekan.

In a statement released by the anti-graft agency, the EFCC spokesperson stated that following intelligence reports recieved by the commission from concerned members of the public over alleged involvement in criminal activities, the suspects were arrested during a sting operation in the early hours of Friday, September 27, 2019 at different locations in the Alagbado Area of Lagos State.

“Five of the suspects attempted to escape arrest by taking refuge inside the ceiling of their apartments during the raid but were not lucky as they were all eventually apprehended by officials of the EFCC.

Charms, phones, laptops and five cars -Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry 2004 model, Toyota Camry 2007 model, Toyota Camry 1999 model and Honda Pilot were recovered from the suspected internet fraudsters during the arrest.

The suspects will soon be charged to court.
