After several reactions from Christians and Christian associations such as CAN, PFN among others  to the proposed conference on Witchcraft, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has finally bowed to pressure.

Inspite explanation and clarification that the conference is not a gathering to promote witchcraft from a literary and social critic, condemnations and negative prayers from Nigerian Christians still continued.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the organisers of the conference have changed the theme to avoid a scene and to appease religious Nigerians.

According to reports, the theme of the conference was changed from “First International & Interdisciplinary Conference on Witchcraft” to another theme that doesn’t include witchcraft, witchcraft will still be discussed at the conference which holds tomorrow in UNN.
