Peller Youth Vanguard has condemned the detention of Honourable Shina Peller by the Nigerian Police.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Peller, honourable representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/kajola/iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo state was arrested while trying to take the bail of some clubbers who are regular customers at his club, Quilox. According to Police, he was arrested for obstructing traffic flow as well as hiring thugs to disrupt Maroko police station.

Also, Peller’s Quilox club was sealed by Lagos State Environmental protection Agency, after the club organised its annual 36-hour party, the Club was sealed for noise pollution and traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, Peller Youth Vanguard while reacting in a statement said the lawmaker’s arrest has posed more threat to the dignity of fairness and equity, as it has only unveiled and confirmed the laughable heartlessness of the Nigeria Police.

The group however, cautioned the police to released the lawmaker no sooner than now to avert further critical response from well meaning Nigerians.

Statement
We, Peller Youth Vanguard, hereby earnestly condemn the unlawful and illegal detention of Honourable Shina Abiola Peller, a renown man of peace and extraordinary law abiding citizen. Outrightly, the news of the detention circulating on social media has posed more threat to the dignity of fairness and equity, as it has only unveiled and confirmed the laughable heartlessness of the Nigeria Police, an institution that has sadly lost the image of protection bestowed on them by citizens of this Country.

Honourable Shina Peller only lawfully went to Maroko Police Station to bail his customers arrested for traffic violation. The next reality then put question on the sanity of law as the Nigeria Police did not only harass him for this, but as well got him detained.

We can confidently question the blemished professionalism of the Nigeria Police in the way this sense – deserving issue was handled. And while we appeal for calm from concerned and well- meaning Nigerians, we call on the Inspector General of Police to inject more spirit of disciplined professionalism in his officers.

Honourable Shina Abiola Peller should be released no sooner than now to avert further critical response from well meaning Nigerians , who are well in the stronger know of Peller’s peaceful nature habitual conformity to law. We can not continue with this shameful heat on the heart of justice.
