Police in Osun state have revealed that its officer identified as Ago Egharepbe who brutalised a civilian in Ibokun, Osun State has been dismissed.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the 20-year-old fashion designer identified as Ayomide Taiwo has been in coma at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, since Monday before he died in the early hours of today.

It was further learnt that the victim, Ayomide died of the injury he sustained when Egharepbe attacked him on Monday.

Speaking on the development, Popoola Adebayo, the master of the 20-year-old fashion designer confirmed the death of his apprentice.

Adebayo said Ayomide died on Sunday as he had remained unconscious since the attack six days ago.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola also confirmed the death of Ayomide and further stated that the Commissioner of Police Osun command, Undie Adie has after receiving the report of the trial committee, recommended the dismissal of the officer to the Inspector General of Police and he has been dismissed.

Opalola added that he will be charged to court on Monday for murder.

“The Osun State Police Command wishes to state that the officer, Inspector Ago Egharepbe, who brutalised a civilian in Ibokun has been tried and dismissed from the force.

“The Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie has recommended his dismissal to the Inspector General of Police and he has been dismissed. He will be charged to court on Monday for murder.

“CP Adie and the entire Osun Police Command commiserate with the family and friends of Ayomide Taiwo on the death of the loved on, as we promised to ensure Justice is served.” Opalola said.
