Oge Obi, the undercover reporter in BBC sex-for-grades project and ‘the brain’ behind the documentary has released a disturbing video where she keeps apologising “for what I’m about to do.”

She said in the caption for the video that all she wanted was to be the next Christiane Amanpour the popular CNN international anchor.

“Started reading newspapers as a pretend news anchor when I was just a little girl. All I wanted to do with my life was to be the next Christiane Amanpour or Anas Aremeyaw.

Forgive me some day but it’s better this way,” Obi wrote.

Obi is seen in the video released on Twitter on Sunday weeping as she says:

“I just want to say I’m sorry for what I’m about to do. I’m just tired.”

Her latest video follows her long-standing fight with Kiki Mordi another journalist who has been the face of the documentary which exposed sexual harassment in Nigerian and Ghanaian varsities.

Obi accuses Mordi of taking all the credits for the work.

The issue with the women escalated following Mordi’s latest recognition as winner of the 2020 Michael Elliott Award for African Storytelling over the documentary.

Last week, another journalist Ruona Meyer called out Mordi on Twitter, urging her to share the prize money with Obi whom she referred to at the time as O. O., with claims that Obi pitched the sex-for-grade report and did the underground work.

On Friday, Obi tweeted:

“Own up. Acknowledge. Apologize (even if it’s fake, I’ll take it) and stop gaslighting the unfairness I’ve had to go through.

Everything is not about money, it’s really not asking too much. I hate this mess.”
