The Zonal Commanding Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Zone 12, Assistant Corp Marshal, Rotimi Adeleye, has warned that it will not spare any of its officers and men caught extorting motorists, particularly during the Yuletide.

He gave the warning while speaking with journalists at the FRSC Zonal Headquarters comprising Bauchi, Yobe and Borno States.

Adeleye said already, the corps had a collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission and the Department of State Services to fish out, arrest and prosecute any operative found wanting, even as he called on the public to help in fishing out the bad eggs among the officials.

He warned that he will not allow such illegal activities to continue because motorists would be thrown into untold hardship.

Adeleye said, “It is not only during this period alone; all along in the corps, there has been zero tolerance for corruption.

“From the national level of the corps, there is an understanding among the ICPC, the DSS and the corps. All the FRSC workers are consciously aware of fact that any operative that falls into the hands of the DSS and the ICPC, is on his own.”

The Zonal FRSC boss said over 1,300 officers and men would be deployed across the three states to ensure an effective operation during the Yuletide.
