The Executive Governor of Ekiti State who doubles as the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi has disclosed that state governors will be taking the COVID19 vaccines on live television to demonstrate to their residents that the vaccine works.

This disclosure was made by the state governor while addressing state house correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Buhari where security, the economy, and vaccine management were discussed.

Governor Fayemi expressed the readiness of state governors to recieve the vaccine on live television when asked if governors will take the vaccine.

“Absolutely. We too will like to demonstrate to our citizens that we believe that vaccines would work. Don’t forget, we have a lot of experience on this. Governors Forum managed the polio vaccines administration in the country and we have garnered a lot of experience”

He also noted that the president has agreed to convey to the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, the need to use influencers such as religious leaders, entertainers, and athletes to engender the confidence of citizens at the state and local level.
