A journalist identified as Adebayo Afeez has narrated how he was attacked on Sunday afternoon by some irate youths during an annual festival in Imesi-Ile.

Imesi-Ile is an ancient town situated in Obokun Local Government, Osun State.

According to Afeez, these irate youths attacked him while filming the festival and attempted to crash the drone he was using to capture the event.

The journalist who revealed that he was invited by the committee responsible for the planning of the festival said he was beaten up and injured by the youths for discharging his duty.

Afeez added that he lost his drone, power bank, keys, shoes among other things.

When asked if he had reported the incident to the police, Afeez disclosed that he notified the committee and the Palace of the sad incident and they told him to go and report to the police.

I have informed the Department of State Services and the police. I still have no access to my properties including the drone and others. It is sad that such event could happen, Afeez added.
