Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was disclosed on Monday, March 9, 2026 by his deputy, Mani Mummuni, who cited internal crisis and legal disputes within the PDP as the reason for the move.
The defection comes after weeks of speculation and follows a recent Appeal Court ruling that dismissed an appeal by the PDP, effectively ending Lawal’s stay in the party.
