The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, AMVCA, lit up Lagos on May 9, 2026 Saturday night as some of Africa’s biggest actors, filmmakers, and entertainers gathered to celebrate excellence in film and television.

The glamorous event, which has become one of the continent’s most prestigious entertainment awards, saw major productions including My Father’s Shadow, To Kill a Monkey, Colours of Fire, and The Herd dominate several categories.

The event was also packed with unforgettable fashion moments as celebrities stormed the red carpet in glamorous outfits that quickly became trending topics across social media platforms.

Fans and movie lovers have since continued to celebrate the winners online, with many describing the 2026 edition of the AMVCA as one of the most competitive and star-studded ceremonies in recent years.
