5 celebrity Father’s Day post that seemed to mean more than they said

Father’s Day was marked across Nigeria on June 21, with celebrities joining millions of people around the world to celebrate fathers and father figures. Social media was filled with family photos, heartfelt tributes, prayers and words of appreciation.

But beyond the usual Father’s Day greetings, some celebrity posts appeared to carry deeper meanings. Some reflected years of waiting and answered prayers, while others touched on co-parenting, marriage, sacrifice and family relationships. In a few cases, it was not just what was said that caught attention, but also what was left unsaid.

Here are five celebrity Father’s Day posts that seemed to mean more than they said.

1. Mo Bimpe’s Tribute to Lateef Adedimeji Celebrated a Long-Awaited Blessing

For actress Mo Bimpe, this year’s Father’s Day was about much more than celebrating her husband.

In a touching message to actor Lateef Adedimeji, she reflected on their journey from years of prayers and waiting to becoming parents. The actress described him as “the man I prayed with” and celebrated his first Father’s Day as the father of their children.

“Watching you become a father has been one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed,” she wrote.

Mo Bimpe and Lateef, who got married in December 2021, welcomed their triplet sons in May 2026. The boys were later named Rahman, Raheem and Rakeeb during a private Islamic naming ceremony in Lagos.

What made the post stand out was one particular line: “The man I prayed with is now the father of the children we prayed for.”

More than a Father’s Day tribute, it was a celebration of faith, patience and a dream that finally came true.

2. Biola Bayo’s Message to Her Ex-Husband Sent a Co-Parenting Message

Actress Biola Bayo’s Father’s Day post stood out because it was dedicated to her ex-husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde. Sharing photos of him with their son, Tioluwanimi, she wrote:

“Happy Father’s Day Daddy Tioluwanimi and every great father out there. We honor and celebrate you all today.”

The message may have seemed simple, but it carried extra meaning because of the couple’s history.
Biola and Akinrinde got married in April 2021 and welcomed their son through surrogacy in 2023. In June 2025, the actress publicly announced that they had separated in April 2024.

Despite the end of their marriage, Biola has repeatedly stated that there was no abuse involved and that they are committed to peacefully co-parenting their son.

By publicly celebrating her ex-husband on Father’s Day, she appeared to send a message that parenthood does not end when a marriage does. Her tribute highlighted maturity, respect and the importance of putting a child first.

3. Bovi Used Father’s Day to Appreciate His Wife

While many fathers spent the day receiving praise, comedian Bovi chose to share the spotlight with his wife, Kris Asimonye.

In his usual humorous style, he joked about the challenges of raising their children and thanked his wife for helping him through it all.

“Happy Father’s Day to ME and us because without you, where will I start from with those crazy restless Gen Z and Alpha children,” he wrote before thanking her for “dividing my job into 2.”

The post was funny, but it also carried a meaningful message.

Bovi and Kris have been married since September 2009 and share three children. Over the years, they have built a reputation as one of the entertainment industry’s most admired couples.

Instead of presenting fatherhood as a one-man effort, Bovi used Father’s Day to recognise the woman sharing the responsibilities with him. His message was a reminder that parenting is often a team effort.

4. Charles Born Once Again Celebrated His Mother on Father’s Day

Actor and broadcaster Charles Born took a different approach to Father’s Day by celebrating his mother instead of his father. Sharing a throwback photo, he simply wrote:

“Happy Father’s Day Dad.”

For followers familiar with his story, the message required little explanation.

In a Father’s Day post shared in 2025, Charles revealed that he considers his mother the only father figure he has ever truly known. He recounted how she supported, protected and encouraged him throughout his childhood, especially during difficult moments where his biological father maltreated him.

According to the actor, she constantly reassured him when he felt rejected and stood by him when others doubted him.
That history gave fresh meaning to this year’s tribute. By once again referring to his mother as “Dad,” Charles was honouring the parent who stepped into both roles and helped shape the man he is today.

His post was a reminder that Father’s Day is not always about biological fathers. Sometimes, it is about the person who consistently showed up when it mattered most.

5. BamBam’s Father’s Day Tribute Sparked Conversation

Bambam & her dad

Former Big Brother Naija star and actress BamBam used Father’s Day to celebrate her father with a lengthy and emotional message.

In the post, she praised his integrity, wisdom, discipline and support, while thanking him for helping shape her life.

“One of the things I admire most about you is your integrity,” she wrote. “No matter the situation, when you are wrong or have made a mistake, you take responsibility.”

On its own, the tribute was a heartfelt celebration of her father. However, it attracted attention because of ongoing rumours surrounding her marriage to fellow reality star Teddy A.

BamBam and Teddy A met during the 2018 edition of Big Brother Naija and got married in 2019. They share two daughters and have long been regarded as one of the show’s biggest success stories.

In recent months, however, speculation about their relationship has continued to circulate online, although neither party has publicly confirmed any separation.

Against that backdrop, some fans noticed that BamBam’s Father’s Day post focused entirely on her father, with no public mention of Teddy A, the father of her children. While that alone proves nothing, the omission sparked conversation among followers already paying close attention to the couple’s relationship.

Recall in March, on International Women Day Teddy A also excluded Bambam from a social media tribute dedicated to the important women in his life.
In the end, the discussion around the post showed how celebrity messages are often interpreted through the lens of existing public narratives.

Conclusion

Father’s Day is usually a time for celebration, but these celebrity posts showed that it can also reveal deeper personal stories. From answered prayers and peaceful co-parenting to shared parenting duties, parental sacrifice and public speculation, each tribute carried a message beyond the holiday itself. Together, they offered a glimpse into the relationships and experiences shaping the lives of the celebrities behind the posts.
