Unknown armed men have reportedly attacked the bus of Nigeria Prisons Service, Awka.
WITHIN NIGERIA assembled that staff of the Nigeria Prisons Service, Akwa who were inside the bus while escorting inmates to court in Ekwulobia were also shot dead by the gunmen.
It was learnt that this tragic incident happened on Friday morning, March 19 in Awka.
As at the time of filing this report, the state police command and Nigeria Prisons Service have not reacted to the sad development.

Recall that WITHIN NIGERIA reported that unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked a police patrol team at Ukacha junction Neni, Anaocha LGA in Anambra state.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the tragic incident which claimed the life of one police officer and made another one lying critically ill in the hospital happened on Thursday, March 18.
This was contained in a statement released by the police public relations officer in the state, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.
