A notorious bandits leader, identified as ‘Yellow’ has reportedly killed a 30-year-old member, Abdullahi Iliya, over the murder of an abducted victim in Katsina state.

The slain terrorist reportedly shot and killed the victim after he refused to be abducted by the gang of terrorists who stormed his community at Faskari Local Government Area of the state last Thursday, March 3.

According to the police, a seven-member gang of terrorists stormed the community located along Dogon Awo feeder road, ordered the 30-year old victim whose name was given as Umar Abdullahi Ankalele to follow them and he refused.

The state police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development on Tuesday night said two suspects, namely Nasiru Mohammed, 27, and Abubakar Iliyasu, 25, both from Faskari council had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Isah said; “On March 03, 2022 at about 2.30 a.m, bandits numbering seven (7) armed with AK 47 rifles, attacked the residence of one Umar Abdullahi Ankalele, “M”, aged 30yrs along Dogon Awo feeder road, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina state and kidnapped him.

“They further confessed that seven (7) of them, under the leadership of one “YELLOW”, a notorious bandit, went to the house to kidnap the said Umar Abdullahi, but when he refused to follow them, one Abdullahi Iliya, 30, a member of the syndicate, shot and killed him with AK 47 rifle. Subsequently, the ring leader, who was not happy with the action of the said Abudullahi Iliya, also shot and killed him. ”

He added that Abubakar Iliyasu also confessed that the slain terrorist was his blood brother and had participated in several terrorism-related crimes in the council.
