Four suspected members of a kidnap gang have been killed by the police in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State.
It was gathered that the kidnap suspects were killed in their hideout in a shootout with police.
The hoodlums, who had their operational base at Osisioma local government area, operated between Abia and Rivers states.
According to The Nation, sources at the police Command said the operatives stormed the kidnappers’ den after credible intelligence.
Police said the hideout is in Oyibo; a border town between Abia and Rivers.
The team reportedly rescued two female kidnapped victims who were awaiting their family members to pay their ransom.
AK-47 rifles, pump action guns, different vehicle plate numbers and two vehicles were recovered.
