Cristiano Ronaldo’s 15 goals in the 2017/18 competition may have helped Real Madrid to another Champions League title – but his influence off the pitch was just as important.

The now 13-time winners have released the trailer for a new documentary which features their all-time record goalscorer giving a spine-tingling rallying cry ahead of the final in Kiev.

“In the Heart of the Thirteenth” reveals candid behind the scenes footage of Real’s march to their third successive Champions League title, including Ronaldo’s influence in the changing room before kick off.

As the team prepare to go out onto the pitch, the Portuguese superstar is filmed holding court and reminding his colleagues of the magnitude of what is to come.

“To play, to win, to make history. For the third time in a row.

“Let’s enjoy another final and let’s agree to do it for those who have supported us. Let’s win.

“Let’s go. One, two, three Madrid”

Los Blancos triumphed following a 3-1 victory over Liverpool thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and a brace from Gareth Bale which included a stunning overhead kick.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet himself, Ronaldo was still able to celebrate what was to be his final match for the club.

Following this latest victory, the player and club decided to part ways as Ronaldo joined Italian Champions Juventus for a reported €105m fee.

The forward made the surprise move after nine fruitful years in the Spanish capital where he scored an incredible 450 goals in 438 matches and won the Champions League four times.
