Mrs. Damilola Ayeni, 23, stabbed to death her husband Olumide Ayeni, a staff of Lagos Island Hospital, on Friday, August 3, 2018. He died at the Lagos Island General Hospital.
Damilola, who reportedly stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife over suspicion of infidelity, said she did not set out to kill him but lost control due to anger. She mentioned that their two years old marriage was characterized with suspicions of infidelity and mistrust, which resulted in constant quarrelling and fighting. It was during one of those fights that she lost control and murdered her husband.
The mother of two added that she has not come to terms with what happened on that day and wish it never happened.

She has been charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates court and arraigned for murder. The prosecutor, Inspector Mana Dauda, informed the court that it was a case of domestic violence that led to the death of the victim.
