Sharon Ikeazor, Executive Secretary of PTAD, alongside six other women, has been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari into his second term, next level cabinet.

This is an improvement on the number of women (four) in his first term Cabinet,

While Nigerian hail the President for this gesture – which is considered a positive leap in further empowering women – we look at the seven; who they are and where they hail from.

She is the current executive secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), a seasoned politician, philanthropist and an administrator who hails from Anambra state.

2. Gbemisola Saraki

She is a seasoned Politician from Kwara state and younger sister to the president of the 8th senate, Bukola Saraki. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 1999 representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Kwara State.

3. Ramatu Tijani

Hajiya Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu is a National women leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC. A very close ally of the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari. She was born into the royal family of late Alhaji Sidi Ali Mamman Bawa Allah of Lokoja, Kogi State.

4. Paulen Tallen

Pauline Kedem Tellen OFR, born in 1959, is a seasoned Nigerian Politician from Shendam Local Government Area in Plateau State. She had previously served in ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Cabinet as Minister of State for science and technology.

5. Sadiya Farouk

Sadiya Umar Farouq, from  Zurmi Local Government of Zamfara State, is the current Federal Commissioner of National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Person. She was the  National treasurer of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

6. Zainab Ahmed

Zainab Ahmed (born 16 June 1960) is a Nigerian accountant from Kaduna State. she was originally appointed as the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning in 2015 before replacing the resigned Kemi Adeosun as Minister of Finance.

7. Maryam Katagum

Her Excellency, Maryam Katagum is a Nigerian  Ambassador and a Permanent Delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO.
