Following the demise of Hon. Ndubuisi Emenike, candidate of Action Alliance (AA’s) candidate in the Imo North Senatorial District in the 2019 National Assembly election who was mistakenly shot dead by his security aide, official of NSCDC, the agency’s Commandant-General has issued a new directive.

The Commandant General of the agency, Abdulahi Gana Muhammadu has banned officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) from displaying firearms in public places.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Mr Ndubuisi Emenike the Action Alliance (AA’s) candidate in the Imo North Senatorial District in the 2019 National Assembly election has been shot dead by an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Reacting to the development, the NSCDC’s spokesperson, Emmanuel Okeh confirmed the ban on public display of firearms during a condolence visit to a former governor of Imo state and serving senator, Rochas Okorocha over demise of the Imo politician.
