Some suspected kidnappers who stormed Yolde Pate community in Yola South local government area of Adamawa State on Monday November 23, have abducted the wife and son of a security detail of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

It was alleged that the gun-wielding kidnappers who stormed the suburb, had “free operations” for nearly 30 minutes. Eyewitnesses alleged that they came for Atiku’s security detail, but took his wife and son when they did not meet him.

An eyewitness told The Nation;

“The kidnappers believed that the police personnel, being so close to Atiku, would have money, so they went for him but took his wife and son when they did not find him.”

Adamawa police spokesperson, DSP Suleiman Nguroje who confirmed the incident said;

“The state commissioner of police has ordered that those abducted be rescued.

“We want residents to always help in giving timely and useful information that could help in tracking down the undesirable elements plaguing our society.

“Security is for all.”
