Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Ogogo Hassan is battling stage 4 cancer, with his family appealing to the public for information that could help him access appropriate medical treatment.
The development was disclosed by the actor’s daughter, Haleemah Taiwo, via her Instagram account, on Monday August 17, 2026, as she sought assistance in identifying hospitals, specialists and reputable treatment centres capable of providing further care for the veteran actor.
According to her, doctors treating Hassan have informed the family that chemotherapy is no longer considered an option at this stage of his illness and won’t continue with his treatment.
She explained that the family is not asking for financial donations but is instead seeking credible information about available treatment options, including medical facilities or traditional treatment centres that may be able to assist with his condition.
The appeal has since generated an outpouring of prayers, goodwill messages and words of encouragement from fans, colleagues and other members of the public across social media.
Hassan, popularly known as Taiwo Ogogo, is a veteran figure in the Yoruba film industry and has built a career spanning several decades.
As the family continues to explore possible avenues of care, they have urged members of the public with useful and credible information about suitable treatment facilities to come forward and assist.
