The Ghanaian Police has arrested a 25-year-old lady identified as Sarah Kwabla for selling her 3-months-old baby to sponsor her boyfriend Akwasi Botwe’s trip to France.
Akwasi Botwe’s friend who resides in France had promised to invite him to France if he could raise Ghc10,000 (N67,000) but he was only able to raise Ghc2,000 because he is unemployed.
He, however, got surprised and started asking questions after his girlfriend credited his bank account with Ghc8,000 on September 24. When he questioned her on how she came about the money, she told him that she sold their only child who was just 3-months-old to a certain “Mallam” who lives in their neighborhood.
Sarah was reportedly arrested after Akwasi reported the incident to Sefwi Wiawso police. It was further learned that investigation is currently ongoing.
