The Oscars 2020 ceremony is officially over, and the Oscars 2020 winners have all been announced. There were some serious surprises this year, and we’ve got them all here.
The 92nd Annual Academy Awards took place on Sunday night, February 9, the event celebrates the best and brightest cinematic achievements over the previous year, it was held at the Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles.
Boon Jong-Ho’s “Parasite” took home the top prize at the 92nd Academy Awards, becoming the first non-English language film to win the best picture award.
Bong’s dark thriller, which was South Korea’s first nominated film beat out strong competition from “1917” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” for the best picture win.
The film also won the award for best international feature, best director and best original screenplay.
“I’m speechless,” Kwak Sin Ae, producer of “Parasite,” said during her acceptance speech. “We never imagined this to ever happen. We are so happy.
For performance by an actor in a leading role, Joaquin Phoenix beat out Leonardo DiCaprio to win the award for his role in Joker while actress, Renée Zellweger took home the award for performance by an actress in a leading role for her participation in JUDY.
