The memorial service for Kobe Brayant and his daughter Gianna took place last night at the Staples Center with thousands of people in attendance including famous celebrities.
Beyonce opened the memorial event by delivering an emotional rendition of “XO” and “Halo” at the ceremony.
Wearing a marigold-colored pant suit, the singer delivered a moving rendition of her hit song XO after giving a short speech saying the song was Kobe’s favorite.
“I’m here because I love Kobe, and this was one of his favorite songs,” she said after singing the first line, before beginning again. “So I want to start that over, but I want us to do it all together. I want us to sing it so loud that we hear the love.”
The singer then transitioned into “Halo….”
