El-Rufai confirms 19 new cases of coronavirus, discharge of 12 patients

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has confirmed that 19 new cases of coronavirus disease have been recorded in the State.

The Governor made the confirmation in a tweet via his Twitter Account on Tuesday while announcing the discharge of 12 patients after showing full recovery from the viral infection.

According to him, 17 of the new cases are from three families in Zaria, Kaduna North and Chikun.

The tweet reads ”COVID-19 Update, 12 patients are due for discharge.

“There are 19 positive cases from the latest batch of 131 samples tested.

“17 of the new cases are from three families in Zaria, Kaduna North and Chikun.

“One case is from Igabi, while there is a fatality from Kaduna South.

“Residents are advised to adhere to social distancing rules.”

It would be recalled that the Kaduna State has extended the lockdown in the state by another two weeks after careful review of the state’s Quarantine Orders.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday announced that Nigeria recorded two hundred and seventy-six, 276 COVID-19 cases.
