Men of the Abia state police command have finally arrested Sergeant Chinatu Onyema who absconded after killing a staff of Abia State Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) and a passersby in Aba.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the policeman with force No. 461624, was formerly attached to the Department of Operations at the state police headquarters, Umuahia and was on special duty at Crunchies Fried Chicken Ltd in Aba where he allegedly committed the crime.
According to report, the Police officer now suspect was arrested at Akunakpu village within the Isiala Ngwa police division on Saturday July 18.
It was further learnt that the gun used to commit the crime was reportedly recovered in Aba and the killer cop is currently facing orderly room trial after which he would face prosecution in court.
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that mild tension in Abia community as a police officer reportedly shot and killed an Abia revenue taskforce official and wounded another in Aba on Tuesday, July 7.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that a policeman attached to Crunches, a fast-food restaurant opened fire on members of Abia State Taskforce Board of Internal Revenue.
