Gunmen kill policeman and kidnap 4 expatriates in Cross River

No fewer than 4 expatriates and a police officer have been kiled by gunmen in Cross Rivers state.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the gunmen invaded the premises of Danatrite Construction Company in Oban, Akampka LGA of Cross River state.

It was also learnt that the attack happened late on Tuesday night, July 21.

The police officer who was killed by the gunmen has been identified as Ifere Samson and was said to be the security om guard at the time of the attack.

The four nationals who were abducted have been identified as Kan Jinxi, Hujinchang, Jiang Jijun, and Cheng Qing.

According to report, one Mrs. Udosen whose husband was kidnapped and killed in 2018 in Calabar was also kidnapped last night in Calabar South LGA.

Security agents are already on the trail of the gang who carried out the kidnapping.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that a yet-to-be announced 4-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by a retired soldier in his late-sixties identified as Bassey Ekanem, a resident of 12 Edim Ibangaha Street, Big Qua Town in Calabar, Cross Rivers.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the suspect, Bassey who retired in service as a captain in the Army is currently in Police custody.
