The Federal Government on Thursday debunked the report that it’s planning to replace the IPPIS platform with University Transparency Account System (UTAS).

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, stated this during the meeting with leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and Government officials.

WITHIN NIGERIA has earlier in the day reported that Mr Charles Akpan, the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations to the Federal Minister of Labour and Employment of Nigeria had disclosed the planned meeting in a statement released on Thursday.

ASUU in a post on its Twitter account noted that the Minister debunked the plan to replace IPPIS.

The union wrote, “Senator Ngige also debunked insinuation that the Federal Government was contemplating to replace the IPPIS platform with University Transparency Account System (UTAS), the platform that the university teachers have come up with against IPPIS.”
