The inspector-general of police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has admonised officers of Imo command not to be discouraged by the recent attacks on stations during the #EndSARS crisis.

This admonition was given by the leader of the IGP’s evaluation team, Patrick Atayero who represented the IGP, Mohammed Adamu on Monday in Owerri, the Imo capital, during a visit to assess the extent of damage done to police facilities in the state.

The IGP charged them not to be deterred in carrying out their duty, adding that all their challenges would be addressed by the government.

“You should not be deterred by the incidents of last few weeks, but continue in your quest in ensuring the safety and security of the people,” he said.

The team also visited injured police officers and other persons affected by the crisis.

Akinmoyede also commended the IGP for his visit to Imo earlier in the month, which he said had boosted the morale of the force in the state.

According to NAN, the team inspected 10 divisional headquarters burnt during the crisis.

The police divisions visited include Orlu, Orji, Mbaitoli, Ngor-Okpala, Ehime-Mbano, Ahiazu-Mbaise, Aboh-Mbaise, Njaba and Anara.
