Black Lives Matter: Protesters cool off with Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ during rallies in UK, Germany (Video)

As most part of the world continue to speak against police brutality and racism following the death of a black man, George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, USA, videos have surfaced online showing some protesters dancing to ‘Ye’, a track off ‘Outside’, Burna Boy’s third album, during the Black Lives Matter rallies in the United Kingdom and Germany.

In the now viral video, some protesters waved their pan-African flags and placards in the air, while others formed a circle; took turns to dance; and used the socially conscious track to advance their movement.

Some video clips from the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests staged in the UK and Germany, saw protesters dancing to ‘Ye’.

Floyd died on May 25, after a Minneapolis officer pinned him to the ground for several minutes by kneeling on his neck during an arrest. His death sparked outrage globally, leading to protests on racism and police brutality against blacks all over the world.

The song, whose title evokes the imagery of a black man shrieking responsively in pain, won the ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Listener’s Choice’ at the 2019 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival. Produced by Phantom, ‘Ye’ had shortly peaked at number 26 and 31 on Billboard‘s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts respectively following its debut.
