Police in Bauchi state have arrested a dismissed police officer who specializes in snatching motorcycles.
The 34-year-old dismissed police sergeant identified as Makama Musa was arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for robbery and impersonation.
It was learnt that the native of Gombe state was arrested on June 24.
According to information by the Command’s public relations officer, DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the patrol team attached to Yelwa Police Station Bauchi arrested Musa.
Wakil explained that dismissed sergeant Musa was arrested wearing police uniform along Dass road following a series of complaints by residents.
“The suspect confessed to the crime and the following exhibit was recovered from him; Neon blue shirt and black trouser. Device rank of sergeant and Police badge. Boxer motorcycle with number plate DBM-319-UR, Bauchi.”
He added: “The Commissioner of Police directed that the case should be transferred to SCID for discreet investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution/possible conviction.”
