The mother of super Eagles midfielder, Samuel Kalu, has been kidnapped and taken to an unknown location by gunmen. Reports say the abduction took place last week while driving with some of her children along Okpulu Umuobo area of the city last week.
The gunmen stopped her vehicle and ordered the children out of it before taking her away. According to a source, the kidnappers initially demanded a sum of N50million before they can release the footballer’s mother. However the sum has now been upped with believe they can get more than that from Samuel Kalu who plays for Girondins Bordeaux.
The police are yet to make any comment on the situation as the family of the footballer continue to negotiate with the kidnappers.
