A 70-year-old woman who happens to be the mother of the Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Governor of Jigawa, Alhaji Yahaya Muhammed Bigman has been kidnapped.
The victim who was abducted on Tuesday by gunmen when they invaded Danladin Gumel town in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Within Nigeria learnt that the hoodlums got to the village in large numbers on motorcycles, forcefully moved to the residence of the old woman and took her away to an unknown location.
When contacted, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bala Zama Senchi confirmed the incident on the phone and stated that “the abduction is true and we are on the matter”.
He said operatives had been deployed in neighbouring towns and villages to locate the hiding place of the kidnappers.
Senchi said the abductors have contacted the family for ransom.
