11 Almajiris repatriated from Kaduna test positive for COVID-19 in Sokoto

ELEVEN almajiris who were repatriated from Kaduna state to Sokoto state on June 4 have tested positive for COVID-19.

This was contained in a statement released from the state Ministry of Health.

According to the statement, 33 of the Almajiris were sent back to the state from Kaduna and were immediately isolated at the state NYSC orientation camp, Wamakko.

The samples of all the 33 almajiris were collected on arrival for testing.

Unfortunately, 11 out of 33 samples collected tested positive for the novel Coronavirus and are now been treated.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Tuesday announced that additional 22 COVID-19 patients have been discharged in the state.

It was gathered that the patients were isolated and treated at two isolation facilities of the state.

This is according to the statement issued by the state Commissioner for Health and chairman of the state Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Muhammad Ali Inname, who addressed journalists on behalf of the governor on Tuesday.
