Security Summit: NYCN will hold a security summit on December 2nd

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has scheduled a National Youth Summit for December 2 in Abuja.

The summit is expected to explore new strategies to assist the Federal Government in effectively addressing the country’s security challenges.

Malam Idris Ojoko, Chairman of the NYCN Forum of 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory, made the announcement on Sunday in Abuja in a statement.

According to Ojoko, the summit will also include the release of the book ‘It’s Youth O’clock in Nigeria.’

He stated that the summit would bring together NYCN Chairmen from the 36 states and the FCT, as well as its 774 Local Governments Coordinators, to discuss issues such as insecurity, corruption, and leadership challenges.

Ojoko stated that youths, the most important segment of any nation, have a critical role to play in addressing the country’s current security challenges.

He praised President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for its ongoing counter-insurgency operations and anti-corruption efforts.

The youth leader urged Nigerian youths to continue supporting the Buhari administration’s policies and programs, as well as cooperating with security agencies, in order to rid the country of security challenges.

Ojoko stated that the summit would also include award presentations to some public office holders who have excelled in various fields.

Sadiya Umar-Faruq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi, and Mr. Sunday Dare, Minister of Youths and Sports Development, were among those honored.

Among the dignitaries expected at the summit are Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Aliyu, Alhaji Ahmed Wadada, Chairman PAN Nigeria, Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger, and Sen. Stella Oduah.
