A quinquagenarian, Wasiu Ali, was on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for alleged wilful damage and land grabbing.
The police charged Ali, whose residential address was not provided with conspiracy, land grabbing, threatening violence and willful damage of signpost.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence in August at Apata Ganga area, Ibadan.
She alleged that the defendant and others at large, illegal acquired two plots of land worth N4 million, belonging to Mr Nurudeen Abimbola.
Adedosu also alleged that the defendant damaged the corner pillars and signpost worth N80, 000 also belonging to Abimbola.
The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of sections 6, 4, 7(1) of the Oyo State Real Property Protection laws, 2016 and Sections 516 and 451 of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Enilolobo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Jan. 31, for hearing.
