Akeredolu swears in 14 new commissioners, 7 special advisers

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu swore in 14 new commissioners and seven special advisers on Monday.

Akeredolu also installed the director-general of the Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PIMU) at Akure’s International Culture and Event Centre.

Mr Adegboyega Adefarati, Mrs Ademola-Olateju Bamidele, Mrs Adeyanju Yetunde, Mr Olufemi Agagu, Dr Ajaka Awolowo, Mr Akinlosotu Adewale, and Mr Akinwalire Sunday have been appointed as new Commissioners.

Mr Aribo Olayato, Mrs Juliana Omolola, Mr Igbasan Emmanuel, Mr Rasaq Ayodele, Mr Ologun Bamidele, Mr Fatai Olotu, and Mrs Juliana Adebunmi are among the others.

Dr John Ajibayo, Mr Ategbole Olusegun, Prof. Francis Faduyile, Mrs Falana Juliana, Dr Juliet Olawunmi, Mr Tobi Ogunleye, and Mr Niyi Oseni are the Special Advisers.

Mr Babajide Akeredolu has been named Director-General of the Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PIMU).

The governor, who stated that the state has a large number of qualified men and women for his cabinet, charged the new appointees with being hardworking, diligent, and focused in their respective offices.

He charged them with working with their heads of department, agencies, and permanent secretaries, as well as demonstrating leadership qualities in order to gain public respect.

Akeredolu urged state employees to work with political appointees to end the phenomenon of ghost workers, promising that he would not owe workers’ salaries before leaving office.

“We now have a full state executive and are nearly a year into our second term.” As a result, we must remain focused and, more importantly, will not be distracted by comments or condemnations from any source.

“As I previously stated, I am assuring our civil servants that they will return home smiling this Christmas.” We will borrow to pay salaries if it means borrowing,” he said.

Mr Olufemi Agagu, speaking on behalf of the appointees, thanked the governor for considering them worthy of the appointment and assured him of their unwavering support.

“There are highly qualified, intelligent, and competent people in Ondo state, but Mr governor chose us to serve our dear state.”

“I can assure you, our governor, that we will not disappoint you in any capacity in which we find ourselves.” “We will be dedicated to our work, and our loyalty will be unwavering,” he said.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Akeredolu inaugurated four commissioners on March 16 to begin his second term in office.
