The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN)  has urged Nigerians to be hopeful and strong, noting that the country will come out better and stronger in spite of the challenges presently bedeviling it.
National President of PFN, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke , made the assertion at the 12th  Edition of the Independent Newspapers Ltd. Thanksgiving Service in Lagos on Friday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos reports that the event was to give God thanks for preserving the staffs of the publishing firm and for the growth of the place.

The event with the theme “Lift Up Your Head” was attended by the staffs, management of the firm and well wishers.

The PFN president, who was the Guest Preacher for the event, was represented by Archbishop Joseph Imariba-Ojo, General Overseer, Calvary Kingdom Church, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

“God is working to raise a competent President of Nigeria among younger Nigerians to digitalise the nation’s economy for the common good.

“The days of social-economic challenges are numbered with the exit of older generations in governance and the advent of younger and pragmatic ones into the leadership circuit.

“God Himself has heard the cries of his people and has put in place modalities to bring a national change of thinking, perception and tradition into the scheme to salvage the situation and make the economy good again.

“As a people and as an individual, what you see in the spirit realm is what comes to pass in the physical.

“Therefore, wrong views should be discarded   for good perception of things, both as an individual and as a nation, for people to make headway in life.”

He said Nigeria was blessed with abundance of both natural and human resources.

“ All we need is good and foresighted leaders to put those to good use, of which God has started its redesign in earnest to the bewilderment of Satan and his cohort that has hold this land hostage.”

He charged leaders and government at all levels to do away with greed, while asking the people to profess good tidings for self and society in order for such to be accomplished both in the spirit and physical realm.

The Gospel preacher commended the firm for referencing God in their business pursuit and prayed for the growth of the company and staff.

Pastor Funso Odesola, Assistant General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who officiated the prayer session, tasked people to resort to prayer and praises in times of trouble.

Odesola, who frowned at fair weather Christianity, said tribulations were bound to come in life but the ability to persevere such was through communion with God, through prayer and praise songs.

He noted that the firm had survive and remained afloat in spite of economic hardship which had forced others to close shop.

Also speaking at the event, Pastor Yemi Adebisi, an Editor with the firm, said beckoning on God at the beginning of every year was a tradition in the firm.

According to him, this is to encourage members of staff and management to be up and doing to take the organisation to greater height.

Mr Don Okere, a representative of the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), admonished employees to put in their best in the line of duty.

Okere added that the firm was making effort to improve on the welfare of staffs to enable the establishment stamp its authority in the media space.

He cautioned against weariness and lackadaisical attitude, emphasising that those found wanting in the course of duty would be discarded off.
