The First Vice-President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Ebenezer Morakinyo, on Monday said the Federation’s new Technical Adviser would really help to restructure the sport in the country.
Morakinyo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the arrival of Aleksandar Boskovic from Serbia would also help the sport have a new image in the country.
NAN reports that the new technical adviser was sent to NVBF by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
The NVBF board member said Boskovic would help Nigeria in the area of technical and tactical development/approaches in the various senior and junior national teams.
“Boskovic has come to give a new structure to all the teams in the federation. Everybody in the Federation will benefit from his presence, especially the coaches and players who will be the first beneficiaries.
“There will be various courses for coaches at all levels, and this is a new restructure to raise the standard of the sport,” he said.
Morakinyo also said Boskovic would be assisting all national coaches with their teams’ preparation for competitions at the continental and world levels.
“This is a new dawn for all players in the national teams, both female and male and at the junior and senior levels,” he said.
The NVBF First Vice-President disclosed that the new technical adviser would work with the Federation for one year.
“It is a one-year contract with the support of FIVB. After a year, there will be a chance to renew the contract.”
He then advised all the Federation’s coaches and players to take maximum advantage of Boskovic’s presence to develop themselves in the sport.
“Boskovic will be teaching them the latest and modern rules and regulations of volleyball,” Morakinyo said.
He said the new technical adviser had already been with the Federation for about three weeks now.
